Thymosin [beta]4 induces adult epicardial progenitor mobilization and neovascularization
Article Abstract:
Thymosin [beta]4 is identified as having a very essential role in regulating vasculogenesis, angiogenesis and arteriogenesis, providing insight into the mechanism by which the peptide mediates adult cardiac repair. T [beta]4 enhances cardiomyocyte survival as it has the ability to promote coronary vascularization both during development and in the adult thus contributing significantly towards T [beta]4-induced cardioprotection.

MicroRNAs and the tell-tale heart
Article Abstract:
Four research teams have established a role for microRNAs (miRNAs) in the regulation of in vivo cardiac function, especially the conductance of electrical signals, heart muscle contraction and heart growth and morphogenesis. The analyses have helped in understanding the pathways involved in heart disease and also the challenges involved in manipulating miRNAs as therapeutic targets.

Lost in translation
Article Abstract:
The agents of repair in human disease can be subjected by the potential use of stem cells. The transplantation of bone-marrow stem cells to the damaged heart is examined with the Murray et al and Balsam et al's observations.
